Hobie Lynx

The lynx is simply so much fun to use! It has super lightweight, stable hull weighing in at only 21 kilos. It’s lightweight yet rigid hull are due to its unique layered construction from ‘ace-tec’ material that means that it is durable enough to cope with the rigours of beach and coastal use. Lightweight means fast and the Lynx is certainly one on the fastest kayaks in the Hobie range it is also joyful to manoeuvre on the water thanks to the large rudder. The steering system requires only fingertip control and can be fitted on either side of the seat offering ultimate flexibility in how you set up your cockpit. The sail kit can give the Lynx and extra turn of speed and can give the kayaker and comfortable and stable glide over the water.

The real beauty of the Lynx for tourers and anglers alike is how easy it is to load on top of the car. Thanks to the handy carry handle the hull can easily be flipped over and slid onto the roof rack by one person. The hull design makes it ideal for double stacking so 2 lynx’s can easily head out on the water together, taking just minutes to load and unload from the roof of a car.

Useful fishing extras are the integrated accessory tracks that run down each side of the footwell (an ideal spot to install a fishfinder) there is also a transducer cavity making installation of the fishfinder straight forward. Remember any additional accessories such as electrics are installed for free on new kayaks when purchased from us. Add the optional H-Rail Kit for Lynx to create even more accessory mounting space.  There are lots of options for storage on the deck, with plenty of space for a H-crate at the rear of the kayak and room for a large cooler bag at the front.  Thanks to the stability of the kayak anglers can easily stand on the built in EVA deck pads to get a better view of the water when playing or casting for a fish.

The raised mesh seat is adjustable and will keep you dry and comfortable all day long. The kayak comes with the Mirage Drive 180 Drive with kick up fins. The fins kick-up whenever they hit an underwater obstacle and then redeploy once you start to pedal again. This drive is tough and easy to maintain as well as smooth to use thanks to Hobie’s glide technology where all components are surrounded by roller bearings . The drive can be adjusted easily on board to accommodate different leg lengths from a approx a 10 year old child to a 6 foot plus adult. At the pull of a toggle the Lynx can easily be reversed. If you have strong legs and like more resistance when you pedal we recommend the turbo fin upgrade kit for even more speed.

A vertical accessory tube is located towards the bow for adding a Sail Kit, Bimini, or other accessory mounts. The Lynx is also Power-Pole ready for those who really want to rig up the Lynx for fishing. Adding a fish finder is made easy thanks to the transducer cavity found on the underside of the Lynx.
